Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking for someone to work full-time as the DME Coordinator at the San Marco clinic.

The DME Coordinator coordinates and arranges DME (Durable Medical Equipment) for patients, addressing when needed with referring Physician
Office Location: San Marco Rehab, 1325 San Marco Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207
Schedule: Monday - Friday/40 hours/week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and arranges medically necessary equipment for patients
- Serves as a liaison with patients, Physicians, DJ Staff, Athletic Trainers, Site Coordinators, Practice Managers and clinical professional staff.
- Under the direct supervision of the Physician, administers DME products to patients as allowed by applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains inventory of DME and supplies.
- Reports any issues to Administrator/Site Coordinator/Practice Manager.
- Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Center.
- Assists Administrator/Site Coordinator as needed.
- Participates in all clinical in-service activities.
- Participates in committee activities as assigned.
- Makes themselves available to other staff when not involved in own duties.
- Participates in departmental and interdepartmental education programs as requested by the Administrator.
- Performs month end DME duties per DME manual.
- May assist Physician as requested specifically by the Physician.
- Orients and provides in-services as directed by the Administrator.
- Communicates, cooperates and gives assistance in a prompt and courteous manner to patients, co-workers, and medical staff to ensure “client satisfaction” with the service of the DME Program.
- Assist the Administrator/Site Coordinator as follows but not limited to: Quality Assurance, Utilization Review, Program Evaluation, Infection Control and Safety Committee activities.
- Supervises other DME employees.
Position Requirements
- At least 1 year of DME experience is required.
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent in training and experience preferred.
- Knowledge of reimbursement guidelines, medical terminology, and DME billing codes preferred.
- Computer proficient, including skills necessary to learn and utilize EMR software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

Physical Demands
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, and to write legibly. Vision sufficient to read standard text and data on computer screens and paper forms. Ability to speak clearly and with the volume required to carry on clear conversations in person and over the phone. Hearing sufficient to carry on clear conversations in person and over the phone.
