Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the dealership’s parts department, including inventory control, order processing, and logistics management.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to source high-quality OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts efficiently while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms that benefit the dealership’s supply chain objectives.
- Oversee warehouse management activities, including shipping & receiving, storage optimization, and equipment repair coordination.
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management software to track inventory levels, process purchase orders, and ensure accurate data entry.
- Conduct demand planning and forecasting to anticipate parts needs based on service schedules, vehicle systems updates, and manufacturing trends.
- Lead efforts in automotive diagnostics and automotive service parts sourcing to support repair operations effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards such as forklift operation certifications and proper handling of automotive repair equipment.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards by providing timely parts availability and technical support for dealership technicians.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts management systems, including ERP platforms like AS400 or similar software.
- Expertise in supply chain management, procurement management, and logistics inventory management.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems, HVAC components, auto body repair, and equipment repair processes.
- Proven ability in supplier management, negotiation skills, and sourcing strategies for automotive accessories and OEM parts.
- Experience with warehouse management practices including shipping & receiving procedures and inventory control techniques.
- Familiarity with demand planning tools such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for maintenance scheduling.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing large quantities of inventory data across multiple platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building strong vendor relationships and supporting dealership teams.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and equipment necessary for effective parts sourcing and troubleshooting.
