Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, input data and generate reports.
- Conduct data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods.
- Support payroll management activities by processing payroll data through systemsand ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist in financial analysis tasks such as account analysis, budgeting support, credit analysis, and financial data analysis using Excel.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and governmental accounting standards during all accounting procedures.
- Perform account reconciliation tasks for various ledgers including accounts receivable and payable; verify accuracy of transactions across multiple systems.
- Support non-profit or public accounting functions when applicable; handle tax-related documentation and reporting as needed.
- Maintain meticulous records for audit purposes and assist with internal controls related to accounting systems.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of core accounting principles such as debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping practices.
- Hands-on experience working with multiple financial software platforms including QuickBook or equivalent systems.
- Familiarity with payroll processing systems and experience managing accounts payable/receivable workflows.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience supporting SOX compliance initiatives is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong numeracy skills coupled with excellent attention to detail for data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
- Experience working within corporate or governmental accounting environments; public accounting background is a plus.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively using Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
