Job Overview
We are seeking an experience, driven, and highly motivated Automotive Internet Sales Manager to join our leadership team.
This is a hands-on management position. You will not simply distribute leads, review reports, or supervise from an office. You will be actively calling customers, responding to internet inquiries, setting appointments, following with unsold opportunities, and helping convert leads into showroom traffic and vehicle sales. At the same time, you will be responsible for managing, coaching, and holding the sales team accountable for properly working every internet opportunity.
Duties
- Personally call and communicate with internet customers.
- Respond quickly and professionally to online inquiries.
- Set, confirm, and follow up on customer appointments.
- Re-engage missed appointments, unsold customers, and inactive leads.
- Manage all incoming internet leads, phone opportunities, and digital inquiries.
- Coach the sales team on phone calls, texting, emails, appointment setting, and follow-up.
- Monitor response times, contact rates, appointment rates, show rates, and sold rates.
- Ensure every lead is worked consistently and according to dealership standards.
- Review CRM activity and hold the sales team accountable for completing follow-up.
- Listen to calls and provide immediate coaching and feedback.
- Develop campaigns for unsold customers, previous buyers, missed appointments, and aged leads.
- Help improve internet closing ratios and overall dealership sales volume.
- Maintain energetic, competitive, and customer-focused culture.
Experience
- Previous automotive internet sales, BDC management, or sales management experience required.
- Proven ability to personally call customers and set appointments.
- Strong understanding of automotive CRM systems and digital lead management.
- Track record of improving appointment, show, and closing percentages.
- Excellent phone, text, email, and customer communication skills.
- Comfortable reviewing reports and using performance data to improve results.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
- Highly organized and able to manage a large volume of opportunities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and competitive dealership environment.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
