Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the warehouse. This role involves tracking inventory levels, performing regular counts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting inbound and outbound logistics. The Inventory Specialist works closely with warehouse and operations teams to uphold stock accuracy, optimize space utilization, and support timely order fulfillment. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with inventory systems are essential for success in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Individual will work a varied schedule based on client needs.

  • Track, manage, and organize inventory levels using warehouse management systems.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or low stock to purchasing or supply chain teams.
  • Receive, label, and store incoming inventory in designated warehouse locations.
  • Prepare and process outbound orders, ensuring correct inventory is picked, packed, and shipped.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions including receipts, returns, and adjustments.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory-related issues such as missing, misplaced, or damaged items.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to improve inventory flow.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and quality standards in handling materials.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year experience working in the food manufacturing industry is preferred
