Director, Surgical Services

Job Description:

Surgical Services Directors direct the activities and resources of a hospital's surgery department to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing departmental goals, plans, and standards
• Directing and evaluating departmental operations, including patient care delivery and complaint management
• Planning and monitoring staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, and continuing education initiatives
• Preparing and monitoring departmental budgets
• Coordinating internal and external audits
• Creating an environment that encourages professional growth
• Integrating evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols

The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree in a related field or applicable work experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire
• A Registered Nurse license to work in the State of Kentucky
