Job Purpose The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the operation, general maintenance, and repairs of assigned building(s). The technician will also assist with assuring compliance with environmental, building, fire, health, OSHA and ADA codes and regulations. Essential Responsibilities Maintains and repairs the interior and exterior of building(s), including but not limited to: Maintains doors, door hardware, and thresholds. Maintains windows, mullions, frames, and weather-stripping. Maintains painted surfaces and repaints areas as required. Maintains other building finishes including ceiling repair, carpet, tile, grout, wall base, drywall, cabinets, drawers, countertops, whiteboards and other office and breakroom items. Performs installation and repair of system furniture and components. Performs maintenance of benches, trash containers, sidewalks, parking areas, roadways, and nature trails. Assists with snow removal and maintaining sidewalks free from ice, snow and debris. Assists with maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cabling, life safety, access systems, and emergency generators. Assists in providing a safe, effective, and secure work environment for all associates. Utilizes computer applications to log work and track equipment maintenance and repairs. Maintains compliance with environmental, building, fire, health, OSHA ad ADA codes and regulations. Other Duties Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of and experienced in all carpentry and general trades related skills. Ability to effectively operate power tools and other small machines or tools. Basic mechanical, HVAC and electrical skills. Ability to utilize computer applications to log work and track equipment maintenance and repairs. Must be self-motivated and proactive. Able to lift and carry supplies and equipment (up to 50 pounds), walk or stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders, and possess the full range of physical motion to complete maintenance tasks. Excellent customer service skills. Professional communication skills. Ability to independently and proactively solve problems and address needs within procedure. Flexibility with ability to handle multiple tasks and directives. Ability to effectively prioritize daily tasks. Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity. Ability to understand and carryout oral and written instructions. Qualifications H.S. Diploma or equivalent required. 3 years experience in general maintenance, carpentry, or a construction related field required. Must have a valid state issued driver’s license and be able to pass an annual motor vehicle background check required. Carpenter Journeyman preferred.
