Position Overview
We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support our doctors with patient care and daily clinic tasks. This is a great position for someone interested in veterinary medicine or looking to gain hands-on experience working with animals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with animal handling and restraint during exams and procedures
- Appointment intake, note-taking
- Clean and maintain treatment areas, kennels, and equipment
- Help with basic patient care and monitoring
- Stock supplies and keep the clinic organized
Qualifications
- Animal handling experience preferred but not required
- Veterinary or clinic experience is a plus
- Experience with Avimark veterinary software is a bonus, but not required
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and team-oriented
Ideal Candidate
- Comfortable working with animals of all temperaments
- Not afraid to get a little messy (this is veterinary medicine!)
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Shows initiative and can stay busy during downtime
Compensation & Growth
- Starting pay: $17.25 – $18.00/hour depending on experience
- On-the-job training provided
