The Communication Specialist will participate in the planning, development, and implementation of communications strategies and activities to support JHS communication and marketing efforts. The Communication specialists may handle public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, social media, creative/branding, photography/videography and/or advertising for the organization. This is a project-oriented position with some oversight and works in a confidential capacity in preparing communications. Position requires exercise of independent judgment. Responsible for maintaining information not available to the general public as confidential.
Responsibilities
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree OR 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience in related field is required.
Credentials
Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Responsibilities
- Oversee content for multiple platforms, including print, broadcast, and digital, and at times develop content for some assets with the collaboration of the agency of record or our internal communication team.
- Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to proactively inform strategy, marketing solutions to needs or support them with content to achieve their goals.
- Regularly strategize with service line leaders and other stakeholders (such as news media, marketing agency, outreach consultants, influencers, and other partners) to develop appropriate tactics to grow patient volume, then execute those tactics timely by coordinating marketing materials and other content.
- Participate in team planning sessions and provide innovative ideas, accepting responsibility to lead some initiatives and support others.
- Manage of day-to-day traffic among stakeholders and review and approve the production of print, video, digital, and broadcast content in a wide range of formats such as but not limited to digital ads, advertisements, event activations, social media, and newsletters.
- Assist in organic social media content by meeting with our internal clients for specific service lines to record reels, assist with interviews, and or other items needed for development of our social calendars and posts.
- These are prepared monthly and worked on with the communications team.
- Manage website content and perform functionality audits of service line pages assigned.
- Regularly manage key performance indicators, reports, and other metrics to understand and maximize the impact of communications projects.
- Understand and interpret industry trends.
- Cross collaborate with interdepartmental groups to support initiatives.
- Prepare and present to stakeholders and physicians.
- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
