Description
Jackson County Schools is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join the team at South Jackson Elementary School. This is for a POTENTIAL opening in the Special Education Department and could be for general curriculum or adaptive curriculum based on the strengths and certifications of the identified teacher candidate. Responsibilities include planning and delivering effective instruction, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to promote student success. Ideal candidates are committed to inspiring lifelong learning and meeting the diverse needs of all students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field
- Eligible to hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Special Education
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Special Education
- Hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary aged special needs students
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a standard in-person classroom setting
- Regularly involves standing, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
- May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment
- Requires the ability to use classroom technology, including projectors, computers, and learning management systems
