Cardiothoracic Surgery APP Locums Job in Kentucky

Are you an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery? A premier acute care facility is seeking a dedicated provider to join their surgical team this summer. This is a high-volume, collaborative environment perfect for a skilled first-assistant looking for a short-term engagement with potential for extension.

Position Overview

• -Role: Locum Tenens APP (NP/PA/DNP)
• -Duration: October 1 2026 ongoing
• -Seeking candidates available a minimum of 1 week per month; 2 weeks per month would be ideal
• -Schedule: Main Shift Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 1 shift per week 5p-7a of weeknight backup call
• -On-Call: One week per month (Monday – Thursday, 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM) as 2nd Call/Backup.
• -Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient (Surgical focus)
• -EMR: EPIC

Clinical Responsibilities

• -This role focuses heavily on Surgical First Assisting for Cardiothoracic and Vascular cases, with minimal rounding duties.
• -Caseload: Support 2–4 surgeries per MD daily (Hearts, Lungs, and Vascular).
• -Key Procedures: Assist in a wide range of cardiovascular and respiratory surgical procedures.
• -Preferred Skill: Proficiency in Radial Artery Harvesting is highly desirable.

Requirements

• -Board Status: Board Certified (BC) in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• -Licensure: Open to non licensed KY candidates with clean backgrounds
• -Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS.
• -Experience: Proven experience in CT Surgery First Assisting is required.
