KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Compliance
- Develop and maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs and Tribal Code adherence.
- Conduct monthly safety audits and hazard assessments.
- Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and track closure within defined timelines.
- Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, and other safety records.
- Coordinate emergency drills and employee safety training.
- Support the workers’ compensation process, ensuring timely reporting, claims tracking, and modified work duty programs.
Risk Management
- Identify and evaluate enterprise-wide risks, including financial, operational, and reputational exposures.
- Participate with management in discussions about insurance programs, including property, liability, workers’ compensation, cyber, and vehicle coverage.
- Participate, at management’s request, in discussions with carriers, brokers, and legal counsel for claims and coverage.
- Analyze trends and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Help, at management’s request, in review of contracts and vendor agreements for proper risk transfer and insurance requirements.
- Prepare quarterly risk reports and annual summaries for executive leadership and Tribal Council.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulatory standards, insurance laws, and best practices.

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years in safety or risk management roles.
- OSHA 30-hour certification (required within 6 months).
- ARM, CRM, or CPCU certifications (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, ADA, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in hospitality, casino, or tribally owned operations (preferred).
- Must possess valid Minnesota Driver’s License. (Applicants with an out of state license must obtain a Minnesota license within 30 days of hire.)
