What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Employee position at JACKPOT JUNCTION CASINO HOTEL?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform upkeep within building and throughout property, including outside areas.
- Perform minor electrical repairs.
- Maintain HVAC system.
- Maintain plumbing, water and sewage systems.
- Perform carpentry duties.
- Assist with maintenance of grounds, including sod laying, moving, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging and raking.
- Assist with winter snow removal, including snow shoveling, plowing, sanding and salting sidewalks and parking areas.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of experience with minor electrical, basic plumbing and carpentry preferred.
- Must possess valid Minnesota Drivers License. (Applicants with an out of state license must obtain a Minnesota license within 30 days of hire.)
- Boiler license and pool certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minor electrical skills.
- Basic plumbing skills.
- Carpentry skills.
- Knowledge of hand tools, saws and drills.
- Cement finishing experience.
- Painting and wood finishing experience.
- Rubber roofing experience helpful.
- Able to learn basic HVAC equipment and computer.
- Mechanically inclined.

- Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
- Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Mobility throughout the facility.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to drive various vehicles.
