ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently by preparing high quality ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting kitchen staff across various stations.
• Efficiently prepare and portion ingredients for use in various dishes following standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Operate all kitchen stations and assist as needed.
• Maintain the flexibility to work any station and shift as required.
• Support team efforts to meet kitchen demands during peak service times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food storage, preparation and cooking areas.
• Assist in ensuring the kitchen complies with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Label and date all food storage containers, adhering to food safety guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning of kitchen equipment and tools.
• Communicate effectively with all kitchen staff and Chefs to ensure smooth operations.
• Comply with all company and department policies, procedures and standards.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred but not required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

• Proficiency in basic culinary techniques, knife skills and food preparation.
• Familiarity with cooking methods, including frying, sautéing, broiling, baking and roasting.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, storage and sanitization techniques.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work any station and shift as required.
• Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently.
