About Us
Jack Mountain Meats is a USDA-inspected smokehouse producing high-quality smoked meats and retail-ready products. We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Meat Cutter / Sausage Maker to join our team. This role is available as part-time or full-time, with opportunities for growth.
Schedule
- Part-Time: Monday–Wednesday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Full-Time Potential: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Responsibilities
- Break down box subprimals into retail-ready cuts to weight specifications
- Grind, mix, and prepare sausage (training available if needed)
- Package and label meat products for sale or further processing
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and USDA compliant
- Meet daily production goals with the team
- Communicate inventory or product issues to management
Requirements
- Experience in meat cutting, butchery, or food production preferred
- Strong knife skills; ability to portion cuts consistently by weight
- Willingness to learn sausage making and grinder operation
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation (HACCP a plus)
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for long periods
