Job Responsibilities
- Lead the entire lifecycle of automation projects, from concept and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Manage and work together with a team of engineers to implement automation, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and fostering professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and R&D, and customers to define automation requirements and integrate solutions seamlessly.
- Design and implement PLC/HMI programming, robotic systems, vision systems, and other advanced automation technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for new automation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, design documents, and test plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to automated equipment and systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in industrial automation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in automation processes and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 8 years of experience in industrial automation, with at least 3 years in a project lead or senior engineering role.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi) and HMI development.
- Extensive experience with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, ABB) and their integration into manufacturing lines.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
- Experience with vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection and guidance applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within defined timelines.
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is desirable.
