You will work independently on intricate assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform complex manual and/or automated assembly operations on a variety of products, components, and sub-assemblies according to blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Utilize a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure accurate and precise assembly.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections, identifying and resolving assembly defects or inconsistencies.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose assembly issues, performing rework or adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
- Read and interpret detailed assembly drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Operate and monitor automated assembly equipment, performing basic setup and adjustments.
- Train and mentor less experienced assemblers (Assembler I and II) on assembly techniques, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all safety protocols and 5S principles.
- Document completed work and maintain accurate production records.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members regarding production status, issues, and improvements.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, with a strong focus on complex electromechanical or electronic assemblies.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed work instructions.
- Expert proficiency with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving assembly issues independently.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and the ability to perform detailed inspections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and accessing work instructions.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Prior experience training or mentoring other team members is a plus.
