Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our janitorial services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring surfaces within commercial and retail settings. This role requires a strong focus on floor care, buffing, and general janitorial duties, to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for all occupants.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming carpets
- Strip old finish and reapply new finish
- Buff and polish hard floors to restore shine and protect surfaces
- Maintain and operate floor care equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with janitorial tasks such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, and surface disinfecting
- Follow established cleaning protocols to meet health and safety standards
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management
- Adhere to environmental services guidelines to promote eco-friendly cleaning practices
Qualifications
- Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, or environmental services preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including carpet cleaning, buffing, and stripping
- Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good physical stamina with the ability to lift moderate loads and stand for extended periods
- Reliable work ethic with a focus on safety and professionalism
- Valid drivers license, to operate a company vehicle, and trailer
- Ability to pass a required background check
- Smartphone to utilize time clock
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
