What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Brand Designer position at J2?
J2 is looking for a unicorn-like Senior Designer to join our team in Philadelphia. This design lead will be responsible for conceptual development, execution, and presentation of brand identity systems (and everything/anything that may be born from them.) You’ll need to bring incredible craft, smarts and a good time to work everyday. We are a small, but potent team… you’ll wear many hats— some highly fashionable, some not so much. This opportunity is what you make it. We are a growing and vibrant agency with clients that are doing good things for our world and want amazing work.
You’ll work directly with the Creative Directors to help develop our best ideas, while supporting designers and strategists to ensure those ideas are nurtured, the details are studied, and the finished product sings.
We’re looking for someone who believes positivity and iteration is a vital part of the creative process. Someone who thinks on their feet. Someone who thrives in a highly collaborative working environment. Someone with some illustration chops and logo design expertise. Bonus points for experience designing branded environments, digital experiences, and motion.
Ideally, you remain relatively calm under pressure and show good judgment (with our clients and in your gif choices) – we’re a tight-knit team and we want to spend our time with fun people that inspire us.
A few specifics we're looking for:
- Lead and execute brand identity systems from concept through to completion with the highest possible design standards in check and egos left at the door.
- Expectations to always be elevating our work and how we do it. You’re a process-geek and it shows. Make us better.
- Clearly and passionately present ideas to Creative Directors, internal teams, and clients to consistently sell great work.
- Confident knowledge of print, digital, motion and all the other things that make brands.
- Art Direction of photography, illustration, video, and motion graphics.
- Participate in research and strategy phases that drive our creative work.
- Work efficiently within tight deadlines across multiple projects and internal initiatives (lot going on around here).
- You are not an asshole.
- You have 8 years of design experience creating brands that make us drool.
