Estimator
Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. SUMMARY
The full-time Estimator will work closely with Representatives from Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Operations and Customers to ensure an accurate cost is provided for all assigned projects. The Estimator must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and communicate/maintain costs effectively with a clear and thorough attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
- Comprehends customer equipment needs with strong interactions with Sales personnel and end customer engineering team.
- Drives cost estimates to conclusion (project manage) with daily interaction with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Sales and Logistics teams.
- Works as part of a two-person Estimator/Engineer team. Grows personal knowledge of customer base and product knowledge.
- Works with Logistics and Operations to secure accurate lead times.
- Attend customer technical meetings as needed.
- Drafts quotations for RFQ bids.
- Supports the development and maintenance of cost models.
- Supports the centralized estimating process.
- Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures in order to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
- Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as Engineering, Applied Science, or Manufacturing Technology or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in cost estimating in a construction, manufacturing, or fabrication field required
- Experience in reading and comprehending engineering drawings (P&ID’s, electric schematics, controls system drawings, general arrangements, structural drawings) required
- Fabrication process knowledge required
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Database Software
- Strong organizational skills required
- Ability to identify urgency and react accordingly required
- Multi-tasking simultaneously competing priorities and deadlines and ability to work well under pressure required
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, required
- Experience in estimating within an ERP environment in an engineered-to-order business required
- Driving is an essential function of the job; clean driving record required
