Position: Payroll Union Specialist

Position Description:

The Payroll Union Specialist is responsible for all active unions and ensures we are reporting accurately for their time, dues and fringes by the required deadline. Maintaining accurate rate workbooks and ensuring compliance with the union contracts.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Major areas of responsibility include:

• Update workbook for applicable union rates as contracts update
• Answer union benefit questions as received
• Review job setups for accurate union setups
• Monitor payroll communications for potential union conflicts
• Monthly union reporting to all active unions
• Make amendments as needed to union reporting from previous months
• Document variances between union benefit calculation and payments to funds
• Union audits

Required Skills

• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
• Organized with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
• Excellent time management skills with ability to process a large volume of entries under a short deadline
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to resolve issues quickly
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act in a sense of urgency.
• Punctuality and good attendance are a must
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, assume responsibility and display initiative and exercise good judgment
• Excellent excel skills required
• Spectrum Software experience preferred
• Union payroll experience preferred
