Concrete Batch Plant Technician - Vinagro Materials, LLC
Location: Warwick, RI
J.R. Vinagro Corporation is seeking a dependable, motivated Concrete Batch Plant Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the daily production of ready-mix concrete while ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with technology, and takes pride in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate an automated ready-mix concrete batch plant to meet daily production schedules.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards for concrete production.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with repairs as needed.
- Maintain inventory of raw materials and place orders to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Accurately document production, inventory, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Keep the plant, equipment, and surrounding work areas clean and organized.
- Work collaboratively with drivers, dispatch, maintenance personnel, and management to support daily operations.
Schedule
- Full-time, year-round position
- 40 hours per week
- Overtime paid after 8 hours worked each day (Monday-Friday)
- Early morning start times required
- Occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs
Qualifications
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience operating an automated batch plant, heavy equipment, or similar industrial equipment (we are willing to train the right candidate).
- Comfortable using computers and production software.
- Strong mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.
- Welding and torch-cutting experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
