Position Summary:
Responsible for operating power fork lift truck and hand jack within a department or departments transporting work-in-process materials throughout the production process of fabrication or lithography through completion as well as final preparation for Warehouse transport.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating power fork lift truck or hand truck in a safe manner. Provides adequate supplies of work-in-process materials from storage areas to production departments and transports other materials as follows:
Delivers material to the line as it is designated by the job packet.

- Ensure the line is loaded with enough material to continually run.
- Delivers unassembled cases or bags to work area and assembles cases when required.
- Delivers product-filled cases on strapped pallets to designated staging areas.
- Generate and apply barcodes to finished products for transportation to warehouse.
- Transports scrap to designated areas as required.
- Material handlers will manage and ensure end of line conveyance (palletizer, robots, stretch wrapper, carton erector, and transport conveyors) are in good working order and troubleshoot/resolve appropriate issues related to performance.
- Material handlers will be responsible for strapping any work in process materials prior to its transport.
- Position requires pushing, pulling or lifting heavy objects ranging up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Keeps departmental work areas, aisles and storage areas safe, orderly and free of obstructions such as; empty skids, full garbage cans, pallets or trays, spoiled products, scrap boxes and pallet load of finished product, etc.
Education, Training & Experience:
- Position requires high school diploma or GED Certificate.
qualifications
**Required**
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a general understanding of machine, fork truck, and hand jack operations.
**Preferred**
• Previous fork truck certification and experience in a material support environment. Understanding of bill of material and required inputs for jobs.
Relationships: Production staff (Die setters, Operators in lithography or fabrication), Warehouse, Tool Room, Maintenance.
