POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparation and operating trimmer to automatically trim and square lithographed metal sheets by means of three point gauging.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Dexter Feeder, Trimmer, Dexter Stacker, mechanic’s hand tools, and stripping equipment.
RELATIONSHIPS: Shear & Inspection Personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for checking production order for any special shear instructions, and after load of metal sheets is placed by lift truck operator on the input conveyor, proceeds to set up trimmer for production.
- Set-up requires that various gauges be adjusted so that metal sheets will automatically proceed from the input conveyor through the feeder and cutter, be accurately cut, and form a clear stack of sheets at the restacker.
- Care must be exercised in setting gauges to obtain accurate feeding and cutting and to prevent scratches during the entire time that the metal sheets are proceeding through the machine and stacking operation.
- Operator must adjust gauges at any time to compensate for variations inherent in the particular load of stock that is being trimmed.
- Keeps departmental work area, aisles, equipment and storage areas safe, orderly and free of obstructions.
- Position requires pushing, pulling or lifting heavy objects ranging up to approximately 60 lbs.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Position requires one of the following:
- A minimum of one (1) year high school.
- GED equivalency.
- A minimum of one (1) year vocational school, which could include short specialty courses.
- One (1) year experience is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.
