Service Technician (Overnight)

About the role
As a Service Technician, you will play an essential role in troubleshooting, servicing, installing, and repairing equipment and related systems at customer locations throughout the assigned service area. This position is responsible for responding to service calls, resolving technical and customer-related issues, and supporting management in delivering exceptional customer service across the region.

The ideal candidate must meet the minimum age requirements applicable to the state and jurisdiction in which they work, possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and successfully obtain and maintain any certifications, licenses, registrations, or permits required by applicable federal, state, local, or regulatory authorities, including any background screenings or eligibility determinations. 

What you’ll do 
Core responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and complete equipment repairs efficiently by prioritizing requests based on urgency and geographic location.
• Coordinate with internal teams and leadership to identify, prepare, deploy, service, and maintain equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions involving electronic, mechanical, and related equipment.
• Install, inspect, test, and maintain equipment, hardware, and associated systems to support continuous and efficient operations.
• Communicate professionally with customers, site personnel, and internal stakeholders to address and resolve service-related issues.
• Complete and maintain all required service documentation, equipment records, and activity logs accurately and timely.
• Ensure the quality, functionality, and integrity of all incoming and outgoing equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate equipment, parts, and supply needs to minimize downtime and support efficient operations.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to assigned duties.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Who you are

• Must meet the minimum age requirements established by applicable federal, state, local, or regulatory authorities for the position.
• Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain any certifications, licenses, registrations, or permits required by applicable federal, state, local, or regulatory authorities, including any background screenings or eligibility determinations.
• Previous service, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair experience preferred but not required.
• Possesses intermediate-level computer skills.
• Maintains a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic and testing equipment, including gauges, meters, and related tools.
• Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Exhibits strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with customers, peers, management, and cross-functional teams.

Supervisory responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. 

Education 
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience 
A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of strict year requirements.

Work environment
This position works primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels and environmental changes are typically low and predictable.

This role involves frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift. May frequently lift or move items up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

Travel
This role requires regular local travel between company locations or job sites. Travel is typically within the same day and does not require overnight stays.
