What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grading Crew Laborer position at J&J Grading?
Job Summary
We have immediate openings for Grading Crew Laborers to join our grading and hauling crews. You must be hard-working, reliable, and willing to perform various tasks that are required on the work site. We prefer candidates who have at least one year of experience in a related field but are willing to train the right person. As a Grading Crew Laborer, you will support equipment operators and supervisors with site preparation, grading, material handling, and general labor tasks.
Duties
- Assist equipment operators and supervisors with daily grading operations
- Set grade stakes and help with project layout
- Load, unload, and move materials across the job site
- Use tools such as shovels, rakes, hand tools, and compactors
- Spot equipment to ensure safety during operations
- Clean and maintain job sites, equipment, and tools
- Follow directions, maintain safety, and contribute to a productive, respectful crew environment
Requirements
- Previous construction,landscaping or grading experience is a plus, but many positions offer on-the-job training.
- Familiar with common manual and power tools and equipment.
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, and lift repeatedly
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work on your feet all day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
Work Location: In person
