J & C Holistic Counseling Services is looking for our unicorn!
We are a growing mental health group practice seeking a flexible, detail-oriented individual who can support both our billing and administrative operations. This position may be primarily remote, with occasional in-office responsibilities as needed.
We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed. The ideal candidate has experience with behavioral health billing, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a small business environment where no two days are exactly alike.
Potential Responsibilities
- Insurance claim submission, tracking, and follow-up
- Managing denials, rejections, and payment issues
- Verifying insurance benefits and eligibility
- Processing client payments, balances, and collections
- Managing aging accounts receivable and collections efforts
- Communicating with insurance companies and clients regarding billing concerns
- Assisting with scheduling and administrative tasks as needed
- Supporting office workflows and operational improvements
- Other duties as assigned to support the growth of the practice
What We're Looking For
- Must reside in New Hampshire and be within a reasonable commuting distance of our Manchester office
- Strong knowledge of New Hampshire behavioral health insurance plans, including Medicaid managed care organizations, Medicare, and commercial insurers
- Experience with insurance collections, aging accounts receivable, and claim resolution
- Experience using TherapyNotes is strongly preferred
- Previous mental health billing experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Flexible, adaptable, and solution-focused
- Comfortable interacting with and supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges in a compassionate, professional, and nonjudgmental manner
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, sensitivity, and trauma-informed communication when working within a behavioral health setting
- Able to maintain professionalism while assisting clients with billing concerns, scheduling issues, and other administrative needs that may arise during times of emotional distress
