Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be able to lead projects from start to finish. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople. The Lead Carpenter will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Oversee carpentry projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Perform frame carpentry, including constructing walls, roofs, and other structural elements.
- Execute electrical tasks as needed, ensuring all installations meet safety regulations.
- Conduct construction estimating to provide accurate cost assessments for upcoming projects.
- Carry out concrete forming tasks for foundations and other structures.
- Lay tile with precision, ensuring proper alignment and finish.
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing and roofing to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform maintenance person tasks as required, addressing minor repairs and maintenance issues.
- Supervise and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices, providing guidance on best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in electrical work is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience in construction estimating and project management is preferred.
- Skilled in concrete forming and tile laying with attention to detail.
- Ability to plumb accurately and perform roofing tasks as needed.
- Background in construction painting is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
