Our company is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team!
We are a family-owned, full-service CPA firm located in Lexington, South Carolina. Our services include corporate tax, individual tax, payroll, accounting, assurance, and consulting services. Our primary focus is supporting small businesses and helping them navigate the financial stresses of business ownership. We pride ourselves on strong client communication—being responsive, personable, professional, and courteous.
This position will be primarily responsible for assisting with and managing payroll services for our clients. During our busy season, this role may also assist the tax department with gathering client information and performing administrative tasks. We are a growing firm seeking someone who wants to build a long-term career with us.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work, maintains a positive attitude, and is eager to learn and grow in a payroll-focused role. Prior payroll experience is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with processing payroll for multiple clients
- Maintaining payroll records and ensuring accuracy
- Supporting payroll tax filings and related reporting
- Assisting with preparation of Forms W-2 and 1099
- Helping with new client payroll setup and onboarding
- Responding to client payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting the tax team with administrative tasks during peak season
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Technical Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of payroll or accounting concepts preferred, but not required
- Willingness and ability to learn payroll processes, tax requirements, and software
- Comfortable using computers and learning cloud-based systems
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
