Staff Accountant

iWorld Professionals is seeking an Accountant for our client, a growing manufacturing and distribution company headquartered in Rochester NY. This is an onsite position in Rochester NY.

Accountant Position Summary:

The Accountant will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain reliable records, and support month-end and year-end close processes.

Accountant Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with GAAP
• Record daily cash transactions and reconcile cash activity
• Process weekly payroll journal entries
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, payroll, accruals, and prepaid accounts
• Maintain fixed asset and leased asset records, including depreciation and amortization schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Support external audit requests and prepare related documentation
• Ensure policies and internal controls are followed
• Analyze processes and recommend improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy
• Perform additional accounting and finance tasks as needed

Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or corporate experience a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work onsite in Rochester NY.
