Power Plant Engineer Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in supporting the operation and maintenance of a large natural gas-fired power facility.
- Work across operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability functions to enhance plant performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams for troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment reliability improvements.
- Utilize predictive maintenance tools—such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic inspections—to monitor rotating equipment and prevent failures.
- Drive efficiency initiatives, including developing and implementing plant heat-rate improvement strategies.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance and outage activities across internal teams.
- Lead O&M and capital projects, including scope development, RFP preparation, vendor selection, and project execution.
- Assess equipment condition to support long-term maintenance planning.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Power Plant Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 years of experience in power generation, industrial plants, or heavy industrial engineering (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- CMMS platforms for maintenance and reliability management.
- CAD programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Interpreting P&IDs, schematics, flow diagrams, and technical drawings.
- ASME, ANSI, NFPA, and similar industry codes and standards.
- Mechanical systems including pumps, valves, boilers, turbines, compressors.
- Predictive maintenance techniques (vibration monitoring, thermal imaging, ultrasonic analysis).
- Industrial electrical and controls systems (PLCs, DCS).
