Schedule: M-F 8:00 am- 12:00 pm

Position Summary

Ivybrook Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our teaching team. The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young learners. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine love of working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lessons and classroom activities
  • Support children during learning centers, outdoor play, and enrichment experiences
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
  • Model positive behavior and support students’ social-emotional development
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and families
  • Prepare classroom materials and assist with set-up and clean-up
  • Follow school policies, safety procedures, and the Ivybrook Academy mission
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and special school events as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or camp setting
  • Warm, patient, and child-centered approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to take initiative and follow directions
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
