What are the responsibilities and job description for the AWS & CDL Program Coordinator position at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana?
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the on-site AWS (American Welding Society) testing facility and CDL programs in cooperation with the Workforce/Career Link department. This position will help with scheduling, equipment upkeep, and recruiting for both programs. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: American Welding Society Testing Facility Responsible for maintaining and calibrating of equipment used in the testing facility to ensure it meets AWS standards. Obtain and inspect materials to ensure they meet industry specifications. Maintain a relationship with industry partners to assist in recruiting candidates for certifications and/or welding program. Manage schedule for testing and be available as a resource to industry partners to help facilities practice times for AWS testing prep. CDL Program Collaborate with lead CDL instructor to ensure efficient delivery of training to students. Assist in recruitment for program, in coordination with the Workforce team. Ensure that all Dept. of Transportation and Ivy Tech requirements are met and documented prior to students starting drive times. Associates degree in a technical field. Chosen candidate must possess, or be willing to earn, CDL-A and AWS CWI certifications. Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
