What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant position at IVI RMA North America?
IVIRMA North America network of state-of-the-art fertility practices in the United States, is currently seeking a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our growing San Francisco practice! This is a part-time position Saturday and Sunday 6am-12:30pm.
The Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant will promote and restore patients’ health by assisting in the nursing process and supporting physicians and other multidisciplinary team members with hands-on patient care. You will help to create a positive experience for our patients and ensure that patients receive high-quality service by assisting clinical team with patient care.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Assist Physicians with clinical procedures
- Follow proper protocols for all procedures
- Practice phlebotomy
- Accurately document ultrasound measurements, provider comments and use appropriate stim templates while chaperoning ultrasounds.
- Clean exam rooms and equipment per protocol.
- Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms.
- Maintain clinical supplies inventory.
- Specimen collection, processing for in-house and outside laboratories.
- Manage Lanfax for outside labs, reports, results. Enter results and email to provider team for review.
- Provide patients with information regarding upcoming procedures and reassurance/comfort before, during and after procedures.
Academic Training:
- Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program – preferred
- Studies level: Certification
- Studies area: Nursing/healthcare assistant
- Phlebotomy Program – preferred
- Studies level: Certification
- Studies area: Phlebotomy Program
Position Requirements/Experience:
- 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice
- Prior experience in women’s healthcare – preferred
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel – required
- EMR experience - preferred
