Position Summary:
The Outdoor Marijuana Farm Laborer plays a crucial role in supporting day-to-day cultivation activities across the farm. This position is hands-on, physically demanding, and essential for maintaining healthy plants and a productive outdoor grow cycle. Laborers work under cultivation supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Care & Cultivation:
- Assist with planting, transplanting, pruning, trellising, and general plant maintenance.
- Monitor plants for pests, nutrient deficiencies, mold, and environmental stress.
- Support irrigation set-ups, hose work, hand-watering, and ensuring proper hydration.
- Field Maintenance:
- Remove weeds, debris, dead material, and maintain clean grow rows.
- Set up and repair fencing, shade cloths, netting, and protective structures.
- Harvesting:
- Participate in harvest operations including cutting, transporting, stripping fan leaves, and field bucking.
- Handle plants with care to preserve quality and avoid contamination.
- Environmental Control:
- Assist with monitoring outdoor environmental conditions such as heat, wind, humidity, and rainfall.
- Help adjust shade, tarp systems, and protective covers as necessary.
- General Farm Labor:
- Perform manual labor such as digging, raking, lifting, carrying materials, and using basic farm tools.
- Operate or assist with light machinery when trained (carts, wheelbarrows, irrigation tools, etc.).
- Uphold safety procedures and maintain a clean worksite at all times.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to take direction.
- Prior experience in agriculture, landscaping, or cannabis is preferred but not required.
- Must meet state requirements for employment in cannabis.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor field-based setting with exposure to dust, pollen, insects, and natural elements.
- Fast-paced, seasonal workflow with peak labor demands during planting and harvest seasons.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.65 - $14.00 per hour
