General Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Reliable transportation to the job site is required.
  • Willingness to perform manual labor and get dirty as necessary.
  • Live or able to travel to the Wheeling-Steubenville area for works.
  • Drivers License preferred, a form of transportation required.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 training preferred for certain positions.

Commercial Painter

IUPAT DC 53 is currently seeking multiple Commercial Painters in your local area!

  • Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be required to perform essential tasks involved in commercial painting. Training will be provided by IUPAT. Work requirements are as follows:
  • Painting in commercial buildings, offices, retail spaces, and other commercial establishments.
  • Spraying, brushing, and rolling techniques, hand tool cleaning, erecting contaminants, and pressure washing as needed.
  • Operating man and scissor lifts.
  • Assembling scaffolding as required, as well as covering trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
  • Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect Painters from any possible fumes.
  • Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint adheres properly.
  • Mixing and matching paint, stain, and other finishes to job specifications.
  • Applying paint, stain, and other finishes to surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers.
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary.
  • Following safeguards, rules, and regulations.

Industrial Painter

IUPAT DC 53 is seeking up to 10 industrial painters to work in your. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be required to perform essential tasks involved in industrial painting. Said work may include the following:

Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to heavy equipment, buildings, and/or other structures using brushes, spray guns, sandblasting equipment, or rollers.

  • Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects
  • Assembling scaffolding as required
  • Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
  • Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect Painters from unhealthy fumes
  • Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth
  • Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them
  • Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications
  • Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers
  • Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps
  • Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or blowtorches
  • Estimating time and material costs on painting projects
  • Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids
  • Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary
  • Following safeguards, rules and regulations

Drywall Finisher

Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be required to perform essential tasks involved in drywall finishing. Work requirements are as follows:

  • Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
  • Taping and bedding accordingly.
  • Running corner and zip beads.
  • Running flat and butt joints as well as sand.
  • Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
  • Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
  • Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface.
  • Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
  • Skimming surfaces with a final layer of plaster to prepare for finishing work.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.

Glazier

Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be required to perform essential tasks involved in Glazing. Said work may include the following:

  • Interpreting blueprints to determine the shape, size, color and thickness of glass for installation procedures.
  • Measuring and marking lines or patterns on glass before cutting.
  • Cutting glass to size and specifications in the workshop and on the job site.
  • Measuring, cutting and fitting anti-glare film to glass if required.
  • Loading glass or mirror fittings onto delivery trucks for transport to job site.
  • Driving trucks to job sites and unloading glass and materials.
  • Fabricating and installing moldings for glass installation.
  • Cutting and removing broken glass prior to new installation.
  • Operating hoists or cranes with suction cups to lift heavy glass units.
  • Cleaning the job area once glass has been installed and the client is satisfied.

Hydrovac Operator

IUPAT DC 53 is seeking multiple experienced or inexperienced Industrial Cleaning/Hydro Technicians in your area!

- Starting pay is $17-$18.75 an hr

-Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be required to perform essential tasks involved in industrial hydro work. Training will be provided by IUPAT. Said work may include the following:

● Communicating with a supervisor to determine their water blasting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects

● The use respirators and other safety equipment to protect Hydro workers from any possible fumes

● Cleaning a variety of surfaces and spaces with water as instructed by the supervisor

● Performing tasks associated with high pressure water blasting, tank cleaning, hazardous waste clean-up in a refinery or plant-based setting and emergency response work

● Assisting with heavy lifting, up to 50lbs at times, and unloading/loading heavy items as needed

● Must be willing to do manual labor and get dirty as necessary to get the job done

● This is a physically intensive position that will require extensive manual labor at times
