Electrical Engineer – Troy, OH
Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 company that produces diversified products in global markets. Some of its products include welding equipment, automotive components, construction materials and commercial food equipment. The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments. This position is in the Hobart Warewash Division at its Troy, Ohio facility, located 20 minutes north of Dayton, Ohio.
The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities and retail establishments. We are the industry leader and are seeking to expand our growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.
Summary
As the Electrical Engineer you will conceive, plan, design, develop and coordinate project components including schedules as well as create and develop engineering project documentation; develop prototypes and test plans; perform validations; and troubleshoot. This role will be involved in electro-mechanical system design and development and is required to have to have knowledge of electrical components, circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and applications

What You Will Do
- Implement product release plans, support sales, service and marketing.
- Prepare engineering analysis and designs using various engineering tools.
- Work with embedded products including touch screen, small display panel, vacuum fluorescent displays, thin-film-transistor TFT displays, PLCs etc.
- Involvement with digital and analog circuit design, fabrication and debugging, and wiring harness design.
- Support new and existing product development initiatives.
- Occasionally travel to locations such as manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and customer facilities.
- Create schematics layouts, BOMs and wiring harness documentation for new parts and assemblies.
- Work with Modbus, CAN, USB and other communication protocols for peripheral devices.
- Occasionally work with internet-of-things (IOT) development.
- Plan and implement regulatory agency certifications including UL, NSF, ENERGY STAR, and local regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of embedded micro-controller systems
- Ability to work in a highly innovative, design-driven environment
- An individual with logical, deductive reasoning skills
- Ability to organize and execute projects within specified timelines
- MS Office application proficiency
- Ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels
- Complex problem solver and who is detailed-oriented
- Present a good attitude and team philosophy
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred
- Electro-mechanical engineering experience preferred
- Hands-on mechanical skills
- Handling multiple work assignments concurrently
- Effective oral and written communications as well as effective presentation skills.
- Travel approximately 10-15% of the time
