Job Title: IT Support Specialist
Location: Shelby Township, MI
Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role provides technical support to staff, ensures optimal performance of hardware and software systems, enhances system functionality, and helps maintain data security. This position will also assist with automation initiatives using Power Apps, SQL, and Power BI, as well as advise on IT equipment upgrades.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in fast-paced IT support environments and excels at improving productivity by keeping systems running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with site managers and various departments to address IT needs.
- Provide technical support to staff and customers.
- Train end-users on hardware, software, and system usage.
- Resolve logged errors and support tickets in a timely manner.
- Monitor hardware, software, and overall system performance.
- Perform software updates, hardware upgrades, and system improvements.
- Maintain databases and support system security practices.
- Document processes and perform diagnostic testing.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and IT support trends.
- Develop and investigate Power Apps solutions to automate repetitive tasks.
- Maintain and administer the PLEX ERP system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening (background check, drug test, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and troubleshoot effectively.
- Proven ability to provide technical support and resolve IT-related issues.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize in high-pressure environments.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, and IT infrastructure.
- Ability to assess IT needs and train end-users.
- Proficiency with IT helpdesk software and support tools.
- Experience documenting processes and monitoring system performance.
- Advanced knowledge of database maintenance and system security.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and technological advancements.
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified IT Professional) preferred.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with PLEX ERP is a plus.
- 3-5 years of IT support experience required.
- Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing or automotive environments is preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
