An established and growing advanced manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join its front-office engineering team. This is a customer-facing position offering the opportunity to work on highly engineered products.
Working closely with customers from concept through design, you'll play a key role in developing innovative solutions while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with customers to understand technical requirements and develop product solutions.
- Design products that meet both technical and commercial objectives.
- Create detailed 3D models using Siemens NX.
- Produce manufacturing drawing packages and engineering documentation.
- Support the creation of 2D drawings where required.
- Assist with technical aspects of quotation activities.
- Provide engineering guidance to customers regarding product feasibility and design optimisation.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a product design or engineering role.
- Strong proficiency with Siemens NX.
- Excellent 3D modelling capabilities.
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings.
- Comfortable working in a customer-facing, commercially focused environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bespoke design projects simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in metals manufacturing will be highly regarded, particularly those with exposure to:
- Copper or other engineered metal products.
- Mould design and tooling.
- Metal shrink characteristics.
- Pattern and mould layouts.
- Understanding how different metal alloys influence mould and product design.
