Position Summary
The Project Manager role offers the opportunity to lead large, multi-million-dollar MEP construction projects for a top-tier national contractor. This position is well suited for a professional who thrives in managing complex work, developing teams, and driving successful outcomes within a design-build environment. The role provides exposure to estimating, financial management, and full lifecycle project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a single major project or multiple projects in partnership with Senior Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Work closely with field teams, including craftsmen and foremen, within a self-perform construction model
- Plan and manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating all phases of execution
- Apply LEAN construction principles while aligning project delivery with owner goals and expectations
- Oversee project financials, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure successful performance
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships beyond individual projects
- Mentor and develop early-career professionals in line with the organization’s people-focused culture
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, mechanical systems, and process piping, from design through construction
- Highly organized with a continuous-improvement mindset
- Ability to plan 3–6 months ahead while maintaining momentum toward key milestones
- Proven ability to manage field operations, track productivity, and foster strong team relationships
- Experience driving innovative construction methods, including prefabrication strategies
- Demonstrated experience managing mechanical construction projects for a major mechanical or MEP contractor
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Practical problem-solving skills supported by hands-on construction experience
- Effective leadership skills, sound business judgment, and integrity
- Solid understanding of project financials, forecasting, and cost management
- Collaborative approach to working with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders
