With a significant pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are now seeking a Director of Estimating to lead and scale their estimating function.
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Estimating to lead preconstruction and estimating operations across multiple business units. This role will be responsible for overseeing all estimating activities, driving accuracy, competitiveness, and efficiency across bids, while supporting the company's continued expansion into large-scale and mission-critical projects. This is a key leadership position offering the opportunity to shape the estimating division and play a critical role in the company’s ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the estimating department across multiple project sectors
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale electrical construction projects
- Develop and implement estimating strategies, processes, and best practices
- Review bid proposals, take-offs, and pricing to ensure quality and consistency
- Collaborate with executives, project management, and business development teams to align bidding strategy with company goals
- Support preconstruction activities, including value engineering and constructability reviews
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Analyse market trends, labour conditions, and material costs to inform pricing strategy
- Mentor and develop estimating teams, fostering a high-performance culture
- Identify risks and opportunities within bids to maximise profitability
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in electrical estimating within a contractor environment
- Proven experience in a leadership role such as Chief Estimator or Director of Estimating
- Strong background in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and cost structures
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple large-scale bids simultaneously
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Experience with estimating software and industry tools
- Based in Texas or open to relocation

Salary: Up to $200,000 base (depending on experience)
