Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the full cycle of accounting duties while also providing administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who can balance financial accuracy with day-to-day office operations.
Bookkeeping & Accounting:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate financial records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Handle sales tax filings and assist with tax preparation
- Work with external accountants during audits and year-end close
Administrative Support:
- Provide general office support (filing, scheduling, correspondence)
- Manage vendor relationships and maintain records
- Assist with budgeting and expense tracking
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries
- Support management with special projects as needed
- Proven experience as a full charge bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in small to mid-sized business environments
- Familiarity with payroll systems and tax regulations
- Part-time with the opportunity for the role to grow into full-time. The role is on-site in downtown Ithaca.
