JOB SUMMARY
Provides accounting support and analysis to the various areas within the Supply Chain organization. These areas include inventory planning and forecasting, procurement commitments, and vendor performance. Subject matter expert for PeopleSoft related reporting, troubleshooting, and enhancement implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates department budget package annually for VP, Director, and Finance. Creates quarterly reporting metrics for executive leadership.
- Leads comprehensive reviews of Supply Chain departmental budgets, executing corrections through journal vouchers and reporting on variances monthly.
Conducts Supply Chain internal audits on vendor pricing for time and material suppliers, identifying cost saving opportunities and ensuring contract compliance. This is coordinated with internal audit.
- Reconciliation of key inventory accounts, primarily related to progress payments for stock related items, directing downstream accounting for either projects or stock.
- Creates and delivers five-year forecast to Financial Planning and Analysis, VP, and Director. Reviews performance quarterly to provide variance analyses.
- Provides forecasting projection and true-up analysis to Regulatory leadership as requested, typically annually.
- Supply Chain department’s representative for Financial, Internal/External Audit, Tax, and Regulatory reviews, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Directs inventory adjustments for quantity variances and cost corrections, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with corporate accounting standards.
- Performs recurring inventory analysis on levels, demand trends, and allocation accuracy to support operational planning and financial decision making.
Leads the return material process for field vendor returned material and assists with Accounts Payable reconciliation process.
Serves as a PeopleSoft subject matter expert for purchasing and inventory modules, liaison to ERP team for trouble shooting and coordination of business needed updates.
Leads Supply Chain through ERP Continuous Delivery Model to test and adopt delivered enhancements to application and tools.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, purchasing, materials planning, inventory control or related function.
- Experience with material logistics, inventory control techniques and life cycle cost analysis.
- Utility experience preferred.
- Possesses sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly, concisely and effectively to individuals at all levels in the organization and with external auditors.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
