Assistant General Manager(AGM)

Summary/ Objective:

• The assistant general manager helps the general manager to ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly. The assistant manager will draw up weekly schedules, order merchandise, and assist the general manager with training, recruiting, promotions and planning.

Position Functions/ Responsibilities

• Must be an experienced assistant general manager to help the general manager in directing daily business operations.
• Should be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Must be able to perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Must be able to complete inventory.
• Must have knowledge of Italian wines, and willing to grow in knowledge of wines.
• Should eagerly participate in educational and training opportunities.
• Must be able to motivate staff, especially during times of low morale.
• A top candidate for this position must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Should be firm, but also approachable.
• Cooperating with the general manager and assisting with anything from project planning to staff manager.
• Nurturing positive working relationships with staff
• Delegating daily tasks
• Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.
• Supervising staff and controlling merchandise.
• Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
• Setting a good example for staff.

Requirements:

• Degree in business administration or similar
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Good observation skills
• An ability to deliver constructive criticism.
• Computer literate and basic math skills
• An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.
• Must be able to work weekends and restaurant hours.
• Must be open to technology and paperless environment.
• Must be dressed professionally.
• Must demonstrate leadership and a positive attitude.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 5-10 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior restaurant management experience, preferably in a growing environment.

Physical Demands:

• Individuals may need to sit and stand as needed.
• The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
• The employee may reach above shoulder height or below the waist or lift as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting technics are required.

• This position is full-time and regularly requires long hours, weekend work and holidays.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
