Part time Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to lead our retail operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store activities, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management to maintain a productive and welcoming shopping environment.

Duties

• Lead and supervise store staff
• training, and evaluating employee performance
• Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
• Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation
• Oversee cash handling, POS transactions, and daily financial reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal regulations
• Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and team meetings
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
• Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships for inventory procurement
• Execute marketing initiatives to promote store products
• Manage scheduling shifts to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for effective communication with diverse customers and staff
• Proficiency in payroll processing, bookkeeping, inventory management, POS systems, and retail math
• Experience in sales management, pricing strategies, merchandising, stocking, and marketing techniques
• Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette and organizational abilities
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Knowledge of budgeting, cash handling procedures, and administrative tasks related to retail management
• Prior experience as an assistant manager or in shift management is highly desirable
• Strong time management skills with the ability to oversee store operations efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
