What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager / Supervisor 2nd shift position at It's Caliber?
The Operations Manager is accountable for all operations of a customer or group of customers in an approx. 400,000 sq. ft. building specializing in 3PL functions including the following:
· Customer and staff communication
· Directly manage a large staff to ensure daily goals and deadlines are met
· Engineered standards to drive continuous improvement
· Goal and timeline setting
· Safety and compliance to policies
· Inbound and outbound container management
· Inventory control
· Value added services
· Accurate order fulfillment
· Material flow planning
· Customer P&L analysis
· KPI reporting
· Wage and hour compliance
· Training and development
Qualifications:
Experience in multi-account management, working for clients with competing demands of labor and expertise is expected.
· Must be comfortable interacting with customers in order to understand their needs and evaluate paths to success or any gaps in performance expectations
· Experience in big box shipping compliance requirements expected
· Must be able to supervise multiple Supervisors in support of hundreds of employees
· Ability to monitor and analyze KPI’s to drive productivity for a work unit
· Need to be able to monitor staffing levels to ensure productivity is efficient daily, anticipating changes in the work load to be able to flex up or down as demand changes
· Must possess an eye for details in order to ensure accurate, quality work from your staff
· Ability to motivate staff to generate quality work product under strict deadlines
· Effective written and verbal skills required
· Problem solving using root cause analysis expected
· Initiative to always explore better ways to work safer, more accurately and quicker is expected
· Integrity is key in all interactions with your staff and customers
· Three years minimum Warehouse Management System experience expected
· Experience in Microsoft Office Suite expected
· Experience with Manhattan is preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in logistics or similar field preferred
