Overview: Responsible for configuring, maintaining, and monitoring network and converged voice systems to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant operations supporting enterprise and EMS environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and support network/voice hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, VPNs).
• Monitor network performance (latency, bandwidth, device health) using tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, and Wireshark.
• Troubleshoot user, device, and EMS connectivity issues; perform root-cause analysis and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation: configurations, topology diagrams, inventories, IP schemas, and change records.
• Support network design, upgrades, HA architectures, and secure configuration standards.
• Assist with firewall rule management, access control, port-security, and VPN configurations.
• Perform CIP activities for all network devices patching cycles, baseline configuration reviews, and CIP-compliant change management.
• Provide documentation and support for SERC/NERC audits and compliance reviews.
• Participate in redundancy testing, disaster recovery planning, and MIRT incident response.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, operations, and application teams on projects and incident resolution.
• Continuously update technical knowledge through internal training.
Core Knowledge & Skills
• Network/voice architecture, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP/RTP/RTCP), and distributed computing concepts.
• Network monitoring and performance tools; OS utilities; database management tools.
• Experience with testing, change management, and performance analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to learn quickly, work in ambiguous situations, and deliver on commitments.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow is a plus.
OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and two (2) yrs of professional experience in a network administration role.

Four (4) year combination of education, training and experience in installing, supporting, and maintaining network systems in a large corporate environment.
