Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join a high-performance engineering team supporting advanced aerospace and defense technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing, developing, and validating FPGA-based systems in regulated, mission-critical environments within the aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or defense industry.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, simulate, and validate FPGA architectures for high-reliability embedded systems
Develop RTL code using VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog
Support FPGA integration with embedded processors, sensors, communication interfaces, and high-speed data systems
Perform timing analysis, debugging, verification, and hardware bring-up activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, systems, and test engineering
Support system integration, validation, and troubleshooting in lab and production environments
Participate in design reviews, technical documentation, and compliance activities
Optimize FPGA performance, power, and resource utilization for real-time applications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
5 years of FPGA development experience
Strong hands-on experience with VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
Experience with Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or similar FPGA platforms and toolchains
Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, UART, or DDR memory
Experience with simulation and verification tools such as ModelSim, Vivado, Quartus, or Questa
Strong debugging and hardware validation experience
Ability to work onsite in El Segundo, CA
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DO-254, MIL-STD, or other regulated development environments
Familiarity with embedded systems, DSP, or real-time signal processing
Exposure to radiation-tolerant or safety-critical systems
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is a plus
