Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range $52,000 – $58,000 annually (Depending on education, experience, and bilingual skills)
Position Summary: The Parent Capacity Supporter provides direct parenting education and family support services to parents involved in reunification, child protection, or prevention services. This role focuses on strengthening parenting skills, improving parent–child relationships, and supporting family stability through structured parenting education sessions and in-home visits.
Key Responsibilities
Parenting Education & Direct Family Services
- Provide parenting education, guidance, and support to families enrolled in the program •
- Facilitate structured parenting education sessions using evidence-informed approaches •
- Conduct two required face-to-face visits per week, including: o One visit with parent(s) to complete parenting education requirements
- One visit with parent(s) and children to observe parent–child interactions and provide coaching
- Conduct required in-home visits to:
- Observe parenting practices and home environment
- Assess strengths, challenges, and safety considerations
- Provide individualized feedback and recommendations
- Support parents in developing communication, discipline, behavior management, and nurturing skills
• Model appropriate parenting techniques and strengthen parent–child relationships
- Coordinate referrals and services to support family stability
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation of services, attendance, and progress
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to meet family needs
Qualifications & Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in parenting education, family services, or related field
- Experience working with children and families
- Knowledge of family systems and trauma-informed care
- Strong communication, engagement, and organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to conduct in-home and community-based visits
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass required background checks and clearances
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit or grant-funded programs
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (preferred)
- Familiarity with child protection or family reunification systems
