Islebrook Village is Maine's newest Senior Living Community! We offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care in a brand new 105-unit building in Wiscasset, and we are looking for experienced, enthusiastic CNAs and/or PSSs to join our resident care team.

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) provides direct care and daily support to residents in accordance with individualized service plans. CNAs/LNAs promote dignity, safety, and quality of life by assisting with activities of daily living, encouraging social engagement, and supporting residents’ overall well-being. Aligned with Everbrook’s culture of Compassion, Commitment, and Community, CNAs/LNAs help create meaningful experiences by showing kindness, advocating for residents’ needs, and working as a team to ensure every resident feels respected, valued, and connected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide personal care services and supervision as outlined in the resident’s service plan.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility).
  • Support residents with medical needs such as oxygen, ostomies, or other conditions per service plan.
  • Encourage resident socialization and activity participation, actively joining in to create meaningful moments and build community, where appropriate.
  • Escort or chaperone residents to activities inside and outside the community.
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and in-services as scheduled, including those held outside your routine work hours.
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks as directed in the service plan, or as assigned.
  • Strip and make residents’ beds weekly, as needed, or as assigned.
  • Monitor residents’ health, safety, and well-being. Report all changes in condition to the on-shift nurse immediately.
  • Document changes in resident status, care provided, and chargeable services in accordance with policy.
  • Report all resident concerns promptly to supervisor and appropriate staff.
  • Respond to emergencies with urgency and attentiveness, providing first aid as needed.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness drills and training as directed, practicing procedures with the same urgency and attentiveness required in a real emergency.
  • Follow all safety policies and use proper safety techniques to maintain a safe environment. Practice safe use of equipment, chemicals, and supplies.

Documentation & Compliance: Accurately completes reports, records, and required documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Current CNA/LNA certification in the state of employment (PSS also acceptable)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Must have consistent, reliable transportation to fulfill job responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and reach.

· Ability to assist residents with transfers and mobility, including the ability to participate in two-person assist transfers as required by resident care plans.

· Ability to safely operate durable medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand devices, wheelchairs, and other approved equipment after proper training.

· Visual and auditory ability to respond to resident needs and emergencies.

· Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
